This guide helps you connect your device and troubleshoot common issues in the current project. Follow the steps—no technical background required.

How Do I Connect My CNC Machine?

  • USB Connection (recommended)
    • Use the device’s included or a reliable data cable to connect the machine directly to your computer.
    • Open Laetoly Home and connect the Device panel button in the right-side Device panel.
    • After connection, click X, Y, Z below to run a simple test and confirm the machine responds.

The Device Is Not Recognized / Port Not Found

  • Initial Checks
    • Confirm the driver is installed: on the Home page setting click “Install Driver” to install the appropriate driver.
    • Try different USB ports or a different cable; prefer short, reliable cables.
    • Replug the device and wait briefly before retrying.
  • In the Software
    • Open Laetoly, in the right-side Device panel button panel click Refresh icon to refresh, then select the device again.
    • Close other programs that might occupy the device to avoid connection conflicts.
  • If Still Not Recognized
    • Restart the browser or computer and try again.
    • Try on another computer to rule out device hardware issues.

USB Connection Is Unstable or Frequently Disconnects

  • Connection Method
    • Connect directly to the computer; avoid docks, adapters, or hubs.
    • Use a shorter, sturdier cable and avoid pulling or bending.
  • Environment
    • Keep the desk tidy and the device placed firmly; avoid tension on the cable.
    • Stay away from strong interference sources; maintain a quiet, orderly workspace.
  • Operating Tips
    • After connecting, start with small-area, low-load tests and increase gradually.
    • Close unnecessary background programs to reduce system lag effects.

The Machine Does Not Respond After Connection

  • Basic Checks
    • Confirm “Connected” is shown in the software and the correct device is selected.
    • Run a small test movement and check for feedback.
  • Safety and Status
    • Check that the emergency stop is released, the door or cover is closed, and the device is in a ready state.
    • If the device shows protection or alarms, reset or clear them before retrying.
  • Retry
    • Disconnect and reconnect the device, or restart the browser and try again.
    • Return to Device panel button and validate with the simplest motion first.

  • Submit issues via the feedback portal in the user center. Include your operating system and browser, device model, connection method, and any prompts displayed when the issue occurred.
